Healthcare

Now more than ever, a career in healthcare offers rewards that are emotional as well as financial; you know your care can make a real difference. Training for careers in healthcare spans virtually every level, from entry level positions to jobs requiring certifications to those demanding advanced degrees and specializations.

In addition to classroom work, clinical rotations—that is, working as a trainee on site at a hospital or clinic—is standard practice for nursing and other healthcare positions. During clinical rotations, you will work with experienced professionals and practice your skills under supervision.

Manufacturing has always been a hands-on career. Everybody knows that. But today’s manufacturing demands less physical work and a lot more critical thinking and a higher level of skill. Robotics, digitization and just-in-time work practices require not just knowledge but agile thinking.

The 21st century production line is often a marvel of ingenuity. And that’s why today’s manufacturers are happy to pay those who put their skills on that line. Naturally certifications and/or degrees may be required for this level of performance; apprenticeships are also a strategic option to learn while you earn.

Skilled Trades

Skilled trades offer benefits beyond the obvious, like available jobs and high pay. While the jobs are indeed in demand and the pay good for construction workers, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, cement masons, and other skilled trades, the entry into many of those jobs may also be faster and more economical through certifications.

Want to be an electrician? You can even start out right out of high school as an electrician assistant. Apprenticeships are also available. And one of the best opportunities available to skilled trades is the chance at some point to be your own boss. Not every profession can promise that.
